Pros and Cons
Looking for a short Overpwr Appetite Suppressant review summary? We found it to be a decent product – it has Glucomannan and chromium which are both our favorite ingredients in weight loss products.
However, Glucomannan is underdosed and the rest of the formula consists of basic B vitamins which don’t offer much benefit. So while there are some good things about it, we feel Overpwr has quite a bit of room for improvement.

Overpwr approaches appetite suppression from a few different angles.
Some of its ingredients are known for expanding in the stomach making you feel less hungry.
Other ingredients in Overpwr interact with your brain’s receptors to influence appetite.
That’s what’s marketing material of this product promises, at least. But does it really work or are the claims unfounded? Let’s investigate further.
Overpwr: The Ingredients
Here’s the most important part of this Overpwr Appetite Suppressant review – the meat of the product.
Each serving of Overpwr Appetite Suppressant provides you with the following ingredients:
- Glucomannan (500mg)
- Vitamin B12 (125mcg)
- Thiamine (10mg)
- Pantothenic Acid (10mg)
- Niacin (10mg)
- Riboflavin (10mg)
- Vitamin B6 (5mg)
- Chromium (100mcg)
The good thing is that you can see what’s inside, and how much. Some manufacturers try to hide dosage facts by putting the ingredients in a so-called proprietary blend, which is a mixture that only shows its total dosage on the label.
We always recommend avoiding a product with a proprietary blend as you essentially don’t know how much of each ingredient is going into your body.
So props to Astral Nutrition for being transparent.
Okay, so that’s good, but what else? The ingredients themselves are some of the more common ones, including the B vitamins and Glucomannan (Konjac Root Fiber).
Some of the ingredients are underdosed so that reduces their effects. A few ingredients are also missing.

Glucomannan is a great choice by Astral Nutrition. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s essentially a dietary fiber that expands in your stomach after ingestion. The result of this is that you feel fuller and have less desire for snacking. 
Glucomannan is great, but you need enough of it to work. Overpwr has 500mg per serving. This is not enough, the best weight loss supplements use between 1,500mg-3,000mg per day to ensure it swells enough so it actually makes you feel fuller.
This is a basic ingredient that mostly benefits vegans and elderly people who have digestive issues. If you’re eating a varied diet, vitamin B12 isn’t of much help in regards to appetite suppression or weight loss. If you’re slightly deficient, you may notice an increase in energy levels so you can burn more calories through exercise. 
Thiamine or vitamin B1 is essential for glucose metabolism. Meaning, it helps you better process sugars and carbs from the food you eat. However, most people won’t notice any benefits from supplementing Thiamine because it’s already found in plenty of foods.
The only group of people who can benefit from supplementing B1 are strict plant based eaters, and alcoholics. Alcohol drains the body’s B vitamin stores in general. 
Or simply vitamin B5 is a nutrient that is co-factor to certain enzymes that your body needs to produce energy.
In theory, supplementing vitamin B5 can give you more energy during the day. In reality, most people don’t notice anything because they’re not deficient.
In the words of Examine.com: “While it is important, it is rare to be deficient and further supplementation shows little promise.”
Niacin or vitamin B3 is helpful for regulating cholesterol levels in your body. But here’s the issue. While supplementing other B vitamins may provide little to no benefits, supplementing B3 can actually cause negative side effects – specifically, insulin resistance.
“Niacin is an essential B-vitamin. Supplementation results in improved cholesterol and triglyceride levels. However, since a side-effect of supplementation is increased insulin resistance, niacin supplementation only provides benefits for cardiovascular health if precautions are taken.” – Examine.com
Vitamin B2 or Riboflavin acts on certain enzymes that influence cardiovascular function. As such, it can be helpful for people who’re prone to cardiovascular issues. It has no proven appetite suppression effects though – much like all other B vitamins in Overpwr.
B6 is probably the most important B vitamin for brain function, along with B12. It helps regulate something that’s called ‘homocysteine,’ a nasty by-product of eating red meat and some other foods.
It’s normal to have some homocysteine in your body, but having too much of it in the blood can actually clog up your blood vessels over time. Being deficient in B6 can worsen this problem, so supplementation is not a bad idea. Although, again, it offers no appetite suppression benefits!
Chromium is a trace mineral that influences your blood sugar levels. It can help stabilize insulin response after you eat a meal, making you feel less moody and sluggish. Since extreme blood sugar fluctuations also often lead to irresistible food cravings, balancing them with chromium has a knock-on effect on your appetite too. 
Our Thoughts on the Ingredient Profile
Apart from Glucomannan and Chromium, Overpwr Appetite Suppressant doesn’t have any actual appetite suppressants.
B vitamins are great for general health, energy, and metabolism, but most of them are already found in plenty of foods – even plants.
So supplementing them is unnecessary, and in some cases, like with vitamin B3, it’s actually counterproductive – making you gain fat more easily.
So in that sense, a few better ingredients could’ve been included in Overpwer, such as:
- Cayenne Pepper Seeds – Not only does this ingredient reduce sugar cravings, it’s also effective at boosting your basal metabolic rate.
- Garcinia Cambogia – Influences your brain’s serotonin receptors to enhance feelings of satiation.
- Green Tea Extract – Boosts how efficiently your body burns excess weight, along with improving mental focus and mood.

How to Take Overpwr
The makers of Overpwr aren’t very clear in regards how you should take this supplement. They just say to take it when you start feeling food cravings.
However, it can already be too late at that point. Since the serving size of Overpwr is 1-3 capsules per day, we found best results taking it 30 minutes before each of our main three meals.
Although we didn’t feel the same level of appetite suppression as with products that have bigger doses of glucomannan, we did notice a bit of a benefit dosing it this say.
And make sure to take Overpwr with a full glass of water – this helps Glucomannan swell more.
Does Overpwr Have Side Effects?
Overpwr has a few potential side effects, such as insulin resistance and digestive discomfort.
Insulin resistance might come from vitamin B3 supplementation, which is kind of ironic considering the purpose of this supplement.
As for digestive discomfort, this is less likely to occur, but still possible for people who’re very sensitive to fiber (Glucomannan is fiber).

The customser reviews on Overpwr are generally mixed. Most users are females, and most of them say how it’s helped them have a bit more willpower in resisting their cravings.
That said, we also saw a few negative reviews mentioning how they didn’t feel it working.
Overall, we don’t like to base our opinion off random online testimonials, which can be easily manipulated to make the product appear better or worse than it actually is.
The best way to tell if the product will work for you is by looking at its ingredient label and doing your research on what the ingredients do. Look up the scientific studies and see if they’ve found any success using these ingredients.
