OxySleep Night Time Shred Fat Burner Review (Updated)

OxySleep Review - Does This Nighttime Shred Fat Burner Formula Work?

OxySleep review: In this recently updated review, we’ll see if OxySleep’s claims stand up, and whether this nighttime shred formula can safely burn unwanted fat while you sleep.

What is Oxysleep?

EHP Labs Oxysleep is marketed as a multi-phasic sleep aid with key ingredients that will:

  • Boost your recovery
  • Enhance hormone balance
  • Support sleep
  • Optimize fat-burning processes in the body during sleep

The goal of Oxysleep is to help you get to sleep faster, get a better quality sleep, and burn more fat while you sleep as you continue to take this supplement on a regular basis.

Interestingly, Oxysleep comes as a powder that you mix with water, which is not typical with fat burner supplements. Some ingredients need to be dosed very precisely in milligrams (or lower) which makes capsules a far more common and superior choice when it comes to fat burner pills, which is what’s generally shown to work best.

So, how will Oxysleep work for you? Is it safe and effective?

Let’s find out more below!

How to Take OxySleep

Oxysleep dosage is 1 scoop, 15-20 minutes before sleep. Ideally, you should take it on an empty stomach with water!

Since there’s magnesium and zinc oxide in this supplement, some people might get stomach cramps. We’ll touch upon this below!

OxySleep: The Ingredients

OxySleep’s formula consists of 3 proprietary blends: “Deep Sleep Activator”, “Non-Stim Thermogenic Booster”, and “GH Release Catalysts”.

Their fancy-sounding names aside, each of these proprietary blends contains different ingredients in them. Since they’re proprietary blends, we aren’t able to see the dose of each individual ingredient in them. You’re only shown the total dose of the mixture.

This is bad! It prevents us from knowing if this will work for you or not. Not knowing the doses of certain ingredients also means we can’t tell if it’s side-effect-free.

Not only that, OxySleep also has unnecessary fillers and “other ingredients” on the label, including Sucralose (Splenda) which can disrupt your gut microbiome. This exposes cheap manufacturing and poor ingredient quality!

Here’s a closer breakdown:

Deep Sleep Activator Blend (2.84g)

As you could guess by the name, this concoction has ingredients that should help you fall asleep faster and have a better night’s sleep overall.

So, what’s inside of it. We have:

  • Magnesium Oxide and Zinc Oxide blend
  • Aspartic Acid
  • Some B vitamins
  • 5-HTP
  • Passionflower
  • Lemon Balm
  • Valerian Root
  • Chamomile
  • dl-Methionine

Many of these are common in sleep supplements. For example, 5-HTP is used to make serotonin, which later turns to melatonin, your brain’s sleep hormone.

This blend also contains magnesium and zinc, but both come as ‘oxide,’ which is the least bioavailable form of these minerals. This means your body won’t be able to absorb almost anything. Not only that, magnesium oxide is known for causing diarrhea. Especially at higher doses. We don’t know how much of it is in OxySleep’s blend.

The rest of this “Deep Sleep Activator” blend doesn’t look to convincing. Valerian and Lemon Balm aren’t proven to activate anything. The same goes for Passionflower, which, although it has some anecdotal evidence it might help with stress, it doesn’t reliably induce sedation.

Chamomile, on the other hand, works best when drunk as a tea. Supplemental version of chamomile hasn’t been shown to produce the same effects.

You can tell by now, it’s not a great blend on the whole.

Non-Stim Thermogenic Booster Blend (300mg)

This is the main fat burning blend of OxySleep. Since it’s non-stim, it doesn’t contain caffeine or any other ingredient that would disrupt your sleep.

We aren’t huge fans of fat burners without caffeine, simply due to the fact that they’ve generally been shown as less effective than their stim fat burner counterparts.

This is because caffeine is one of the very best natural fat burners out there. And one of the best thermogenics too. It raises your metabolic rate and activates your CNS system to make your body more efficient at burning away unwanted fat.

Let’s get to OxySleep’s Non-Thermogenic Booster Blend, though.

It contains, L-Theanine, green tea extract, CLA, raspberry ketones, African Mango Seed Extract, and chromium picolinate.

Out of these, only green tea and chromium picolinate are found on our list of the best natural fat burning ingredients. Green tea really is one of the best thermogenics around, as close as it comes to caffeine, at least when it comes to non-stim ingredients.

Chromium doesn’t burn fat, but it helps your body accumulate less of it, by reducing carb absorption from food and stabilizing your insulin levels.

The rest of the ingredients aren’t proven to work. Raspberry ketones are a fad ingredient, the same goes for CLA and African Mango Seed Extract. That said, the latter will offer you some general health benefits, which isn’t too bad!

GH Release Catalysts (250mg)

This blend will reportedly increase your growth hormone as you sleep.

Human Growth Hormone gets released in the highest amounts during the first several hours of sleep. This hormone is responsible for repairing and growing new tissues in your body, and for keeping you young.

HGH can also help with body recomposition – making you build more muscle, and retain less fat.

But raising HGH with natural supplements is very hard. Things like HIIT exercise, intermittent fasting, and cold showers are all great lifestyle hacks to boost this hormone of youth naturally.

OxySleep’s GH Release Catalysts blend contains something called “Alfa-Hydroxy-isocaproic acid (HICA).

This ingredient is supposed to boost your human growth hormone. Can it really do that?

Well, some studies showed it may aid body recomposition, which is definitely a good thing for a fat burner. However, it doesn’t actually boost HGH. It achieves its effects through some different mechanisms.

So while HICA is a decent ingredient for a fat burner, it’s ineffective for what OxySleep’s manufacturers claim in this case!

Does OxySleep Have Side Effects?

OxySleep contains 3 proprietary blends. Since you can’t see the ingredient amounts on the label, you also can’t tell if they’re dosed correctly.

In other words, it’s impossible to tell how safe OxySleep is. Having too much of certain ingredients, like magnesium and zinc oxide, can cause the following side effects:

  • Diarrhea
  • Severe stomach pains & cramps
  • Nausea
  • Insomnia (ironically)
  • Headaches

OxySleep also uses Sucralose. As we mentioned, this synthetic ingredient has been shown to have harmful health effects.

OxySleep Review Summary

So that concludes our OxySleep review & buying guide?

Should you buy OxySleep? We wouldn’t recommend it. Although it has a few good ingredients (green tea, 5-HTP), we don’t know their doses, and by extension, their safety and effectiveness.

Other ingredients are either low quality or don’t work according to studies.

Did we mention that OxySleep is also missing some of the best natural thermogenics for fat burning, including:

  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Caffeine Anhydrous
  • Piperine

Despite offering a generous 40 servings per tub, its effects look weak and unreliable, which is why we don’t believe it’s worth $79.90.

If you’re still looking to buy OxySleep and give it a try, you can check EHP Labs official website, or you can find it on 3rd party sites like Amazon.

Pros

  • 3 great flavors – FujiApple, Peach Tea, Strawberry Daiquiri
  • Some ingredients may help promote better sleep

Cons

  • Cheap quality ingredients (magnesium oxide and zinc oxide, among others)
  • Using some unproven and ineffective fat burners
  • Missing core fat burning ingredients
  • Contains the artificial sweetener Sucralose which destroys good gut bacteria
  • Costs $80 per tub
