Phenocal Review – Does it REALLY Work?

Phenocal Review - Does it Work? Is it Legit?

Here we have our Phenocal review. Phenocal is a weight loss pill designed to curb your appetite, improve metabolism, and enhance fat burning. But does it actually work? Our team checks its ingredients, benefits, dosage instructions, side effects, and customer reviews to give you all the key facts.

Phenocal Review SUMMARY:

Phenocal is a natural supplement with some excellent ingredients for weight loss. These include green tea extract and black pepper extract. Both of these, along with some other ingredients, will help increase your metabolism so you’re burning more calories at baseline. However, Phenocal is missing other core ingredients such as cayenne pepper extract that would make it more effective at doing what it claims. It’s also hiding some of its ingredients behind a proprietary blend so you can’t see their exact amounts. For the price of $50 per bottle, we feel Phenocal needs to improve on some of these areas before we can say it’s one of the best fat burners we’ve tried.

What is Phenocal?

Phenocal diet pills are designed to provide a natural weight management support. Phenocal consists of vitamin B & D, along with Glucomannan, Cocoa Extract and other herbal compounds that are said to help boost your:

  • Metabolic rate
  • Stored fat breakdown
  • Satiety and feelings of fullness

Unlike Plenity and a handful of other weight loss pills, Phenocal is not FDA-approved. The truth is, most supplements aren’t FDA approved. Luckily, there’s a lot of evidence behind the specific ingredients in fat burner supplements that tells us if these supplements really work or not.

So, is Phenocal legit? Read on as our team takes a closer look at its ingredient formula.

How to Use Phenocal

Phenocal dosage instructions are to take 3 capsules per day 15 minutes after waking up, with a big glass of water. After you’ve assesed your tolerance, you may take another 3 capsules in the early afternoon to prolong the “fat-burning effect.”

Phenocal Ingredients List

Looking at the ingredients list, you may ask: does Phenocal have caffeine? There’s no way to know exactly since most of its ingredients are in a proprietary blend. Phenocal is low-stim, but it still may contain some caffeine from green tea extract, Cocoa, and Yerba Mate. Again, the exact amount is unknown as the ingredient amounts are hidden within a proprietary blend – you only see their combined dose as the whole blend.

The good news is, Phenocal’s ingredient list is fairly clean. It’s free of unnecessary fillers, harmful chemicals, or things like gluten.

Okay, what about the ingredients themselves? Does Phenocal contain what it takes to promote appetite suppression and fat burning? Can it help you lose weight safely and effectively? We inspect each ingredient with a fine-tooth comb below.

B Vitamins

All of the 8 B vitamins are essential nutrients. Your body can’t make its own B vitamins – it needs to get them from dietary sources. Luckily, B vitamins are found in plentiful amounts in many foods, including fresh fruits and vegetables as well as in animal products. The only people who’re at risk of deficiency – and may benefit from supplementation by extension – are elderly and strict plant-based eaters.

Vitamin D

Although it’s called a “vitamin,” the sunshine nutrient D is actually a secosteroid hormone. It has a powerful effect on your testosterone levels, immunity, and countless other biological processes. Ponder this for a second: every single cell in your body has a receptor for vitamin D. Unfortunately, most foods are poor sources of vitamin D, and most people don’t get enough direct sunlight exposure each day. Low vitamin D levels can make it hard to lose weight due to increased inflammation and cortisol levels. Luckily, supplementation of high amounts of vitamin D (5,000IU or more) has been shown in studies to lead to improved metabolic health and many other health benefits.

Chromium

Chromium is a trace mineral that helps regulate your body’s blood sugar levels. As a result, it may help with sluggishness and mood swings after you eat a meal. It’s a good ingredient choice!

Fucoxanthin

Fucoxanthin is a type of carotenoid from green seaweed. It’s beneficial as an antioxidant and for general health purposed. However, not only are there stronger antioxidants out there (e.g. Astaxanthin), fucoxanthin is not one of our favorite ingredients for weight loss specifically, either.

Black Pepper Extract

Black Pepper helps enhance some of the other compounds in Phenocal, assisting in their absorption and utilization.

(study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9619120/)

Green Tea Leaf Extract

Green Tea Extract is an excellent choice. It’s one of the most effective natural ingredients for increasing the metabolism as well as promoting overall health with its potent catechin-antioxidants. It can’t do the heavy lifting alone, though! That’s why we hope to see more ingredients like this one in Phenocal as we go down the list.

L-Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine doesn’t have any direct fat loss benefits, but it helps with focus and mental clarity. This can indirectly contribute to weight loss as you’ll be more likely to stay on track with your goals.

Glucomannan

Glucomannan is another excellent choice – this one, for appetite suppression specifically. The only shame here is that we don’t see its dosage, so we can’t tell how effective it will be. Generally speaking though, Glucomannan works best in doses of 3,000mg per serving – Phenocal’s entire proprietary blend in which Glucomannan is weighs only 2,230mg. This suggests that Glucomannan may not be the only ingredient that’s underdosed.

Cocoa Extract

Cocoa is a source of strong antioxidants that help protect your cells from free radical damage and inflammation. The cocoa extract also boosts blood flow which in turn promotes nutrient absorption. A good choice, although, it’s not the best for fat burning specifically.

Garcinia Cambogia

Garcinia Cambogia is a tropical fruit that contains the active compund HCA. HCA is a type of acid that has been shown to lead to improved fat burning and weight loss within the body. It also affects the serotonin brain chemical, which may improve feelings of satiety. Again though, we need to see its dose to be able to determine how safe and effective it is. Garcinia works best in doses of 50-100mg; if there’s more, it could lead to liver strain and other side effects.

Yerba Mate

Yerba Mate is a popular South American drink and a decent potential source of caffeine. It may promote wakefulness as well as other general health benefits.

L-Tryptophan

You’ll more commonly find L-Tryptophan in sleep supplements than in fat burners. Why? Because, it helps with the synthesis of serotonin and melatonin, which play a key role in regulating the sleep-wake cycle. Still, we don’t think that this is a terrible choice for Phenocal. Increased serotonin levels reduce satiety, which is why L-Tryptophan may be helpful in this case. Only if it’s optimally dosed, though!

CLA

CLA is a mixture of fatty acids that affect a system in your body called cAMP. However, according to Examine.com, CLA has too weak of an effect on cAMP to have any significant benefit for weight loss.

5-HTP

5-HTP is another ingredient that helps raise serotonin levels. We’re not the biggest fan of it as it’s a synthetic compound, and it also may lead to side effects when supplemented consistently over the long-term.

Our Thoughts on the Ingredient Profile

Phenocal is a mixed bag. It contains some excellent ingredients for weight loss – including Green Tea Extract and Glucomannan, but it also hides many of these ingredients within its proprietary blend, so we can’t tell if they’re safely or effectively dosed. In terms of Phenocal clinical studies, there are some ingredients that aren’t proven to work for weight loss. We’d rather like to see cayenne pepper extract, and some other tried and tested fat-burning ingredients in their stead here.

Phenocal Reviews & Testimonials

Phenocal has plenty of reviews online, including on websites like Amazon and Reddit. Here’s what some of the customers said about the product:

“I’ve used for 2 months and it did not help as an appetite suppressant, nor did it boost my energy level, hence no weight loss. HOWEVER… I’m not having any more hot flashes!!” – Carrie (Amazon Customer)

“Lost weight..7lbs in 2 weeks. Not sure if it was the tablets or the Exercise and Clean Eating….have to do all three to be successful. To pricy though.” – Anonymous Amazon Customer

“I took Phenocal along with Green tea and Colorpril to clean the colon, but I didn’t loose weight, even my apetite remained as if I never had taken anything. I only lost my money. I don’t recomend you Phenocal.” – Bigarhin (Amazon Customer)

As far as Phenocal company reviews go, you’ll find these if you search the following term on the internet “Pharmaxa Labs reviews.” Pharmaxa Labs is the manufacturer of Phenocal. Generally speaking though, they have a fairly low average score – 2.8 out of 5 stars on reviewmeta.com, for example. Not all of these are directed at the company itself, most of them come from users with Phenocal complaints, including the side effects and lack of positive results.

Does Phenocal Have Side Effects?

Phenocal is low-stim, so the risk of side effects is fairly low. Most customers didn’t report any significant adverse reactions to the supplement. That said, some common Phenocal complaints in regards to side effects include:

  • Upset stomach
  • Nausea
  • Insomnia

To avoid these, it’s best to take Phenocal with food.

Where to Buy Phenocal?

Phenocal is available in stores as well as online, including at Amazon, GNC, Walmart, and Walgreens. Phenocal distributors have made this supplement widely available, including in the UK, Australia, Canada, and South Africa.

As for the price, Phenocal costs $49.45 plus shipping on its official website. The price can vary depending on where you buy it. Currently, there are no Phenocal discount codes or coupons available.

Phenocal Results – Are There Any Before and After Pictures?

Phenocal results didn’t blow us away. While this supplement has some good reviews online, we couldn’t find legitimate before and after pictures from customers.

Your best best is to do proper research on its ingredients to determine whether the science supports the manufacturer’s claims and if this is something that could work for you specifically. It’s easy to forget that we all react differently to different supplements!

Phenocal Review Conclusion

That concludes our Phenocal review! You may still ask; Is Phenocal effective?

From our experience, while Phenocal does work for weight loss, it’s not the most effective fat burner we’ve tried. It’s missing some core ingredients that would make it more potent at increasing the metabolism. In addition to that, some of Phenocal’s ingredients are underdosed and/or hidden within a proprietary blend so we it’s difficult to tell if they’re safe and effective.

Phenocal clinical studies mostly back ingredients like green tea and Garcinia Cambogia, but the rest of its formula has a lot of unproven herbs or compounds that are best left alone until more human evidence comes out.

The price is fairly high at $50+ with shipping, but if money is not an issue for you, then Phenocal might be worth looking into. If you’re looking for the current highest-rated fat burner supplements of the year, see our top 5 below.
