PhenQ vs Alli: Which is Better & Safer for Weight Loss?

PhenQ vs Alli

PhenQ vs Alli: which one is safer and more effective when it comes to helping you lose weight, boost your energy levels, and improve your performance in the gym? Our team inspects both products to help you decide which one is right for you.

[PhenQ vs Alli SUMMARY] PhenQ and Alli have some major differences between them, the biggest one being that PhenQ is a natural dietary supplement and Alli is a drug with Orlistat as its main active ingredient. That doesn’t mean that one is better than the other, though. We’ve found neither one to be as good as some of the market-leading fat burner supplements. In the case of PhenQ, it’s missing some important core ingredients, so the effectiveness in terms of fat loss and appetite suppression is weak. As for Alli, while it’s effective it may also lead to some negative side effects. With a little research you can easily find better options on sale today.

PhenQ vs Alli – The Overview

PhenQ

PhenQ is one of the most popular diet pills on the market today. Produced in the USA and widely available, PhenQ is claimed to help support the loss of weight in 5 different ways, which makes it stand out according to its manufacturer.

You’re promised the following benefits from the regular supplementation of PhenQ;

  • Reduced body fat
  • Improved metabolism
  • Enhanced mood
  • More energy
  • Inhibition of fat production in the body

These are all familiar benefits, most fat burners claim the same thing. The question is, does PhenQ really work as advertised? We take a closer look in a minute.

Alli

Alli is a weight-loss drug that was recently approved by the FDA. The pill works by blocking the body’s digestion of some fat and cholesterol, which delays their absorption and helps people feel full.

Alli should not be taken as a substitute for reducing food intake or increasing activity to lose weight; it is not a magic bullet, but it can help you have more success in your dieting efforts.

The main question people have with Alli tends to be along these lines: “are the benefits worth the risk/side effects?”. That’s one of the questions we plan on answering in detail below.

PhenQ vs Alli – The Ingredients

PhenQ’s Formula

Here is a look at PhenQ’s ingredient label:

PhenQ Ingredients Label

PhenQ is using a multitude of ingredients to help you lose weight. Some of them, like chromium, work by balancing your blood sugar levels, contributing to healthier mood and energy levels throughout the day. Meanwhile, caffeine works to boost your mental & physical performance directly, which consequently results in more calories being burnt.

There is also a proprietary blend in PhenQ. All that means is that you can’t see the individual ingredient doses in the proprietary blend, only the dose of the blend as a whole. This is a bit of a letdown, as the blend is using a few good ingredients, especially the capsicum fruit extract – also known as cayenne pepper. This is an ingredient that works as a thermogenic in PhenQ; meaning, it increases your basal metabolic rate to help you burn more fat as fuel.

There are a few other issues with PhenQ’s formula as well. It uses a few unproven ingredients such as L-Carnitine, which has been heavily overhyped in the weight loss community, its effects are weak at best. Then there is Alpha Lipoic Acid which not only is a weak weight-loss compound, but it can also potentially lead to negative side effects and is best avoided for most people.

Nopal Cactus Fiber is a decent ingredient for appetite suppression, but not as good as Glucomannan, which is currently the best natural ingredient for hunger reduction in weight loss supplements.

PhenQ’s formula as a whole looks incomplete. It would benefit massively from well-studied, effective ingredients, including green tea extract and glucomannan. As it is right now, we don’t think PhenQ can do much for you in terms of weight loss. It may give you some slight benefits if you’re consistent, but we wouldn’t expect miracles!

Alli’s Formula

Alli Ingredients

Unlike PhenQ, Alli is using only one ingredient; Orlistat. This is a synthetic compound, a drug, intended for weight loss. So besides being different in terms of the number of ingredients they’re using, PhenQ and Alli are also different in their very nature. While PhenQ is a natural dietary supplement that you can buy online, Alli is a synthetic drug with more powerful effects on body fat mass control, but also a potentially higher risk of negative reactions.

Okay, so what exactly is Orlistat?

Orlistat is a drug that prevents some of the fat in food from being absorbed by the body.

It is a prescription drug to treat obesity.

Orlistat was approved for use in 1998 and originally restricted to the general population, but in 2006 it was approved for people who are obese with one or more weight-related problems (e.g., Type 2 diabetes, heart disease) – it has been restricted to this group of people since then. It works by reducing the amount of fat that’s broken down and absorbed by your body, which can lead to weight loss if you’re trying to lose weight (and maintain it). The key is that you need to follow a reduced-calorie diet in order for this medicine to work properly. So, despite its potential for helping with weight loss, Orlistat is definitely not a magic pill!

PhenQ vs Alli – Side Effects

PhenQ contains caffeine, which can produce negative side effects in people who’re sensitive to stimulants. Moreover, PhenQ also contains Alpha Lipoic Acid which is known to cause dizziness, nausea, and headaches amongst others in some people.

The ingredient in Alli – Orlistat – is known to cause a wide range of side effects due to how it is metabolized by your liver. Potential side effects from Alli include (source):

  • Gas (flatulence) with discharge.
  • Fatty/oily stools.
  • Increased defecation.
  • Fecal incontinence/inability to control bowel movements.
  • Urgent bowel movements.
  • Loose stools.
  • Clay-colored stools.
  • Diarrhea.

Cost & Where to Buy?

PhenQ costs $69.95 per bottle and is only officially available on the official website.

Alli is available on Amazon and a few other websites online. Prices start at $44 per container.

Our Verdict

PhenQ and Alli both have their own pros and cons.

Whereas PhenQ is the better option if you’re looking for a natural diet pill, it is still far from the best fat burner supplement we’ve seen on the market. You may lose some weight if you’re consistent with it, but for the price that is being charged, there are better options available today.

As for Alli, it is an effective weight loss aid if you pair it with a calorie-controlled diet, but it comes with its own downsides – the main one being the risk of side effects. The active ingredient in Alli can be hard on the liver, especially in people who’re prone.

We personally would look for other options.
