PhenQ vs Phenocal: Which is Better?

PhenQ vs Phenocal

PhenQ vs Phenocal: which is the better weight loss supplement? Both are legal, safe, and natural alternatives to synthetic weight loss drugs, making them a popular choice amongst people who’re looking to burn excess fat and control their appetite. But which one is more effective and a better value for money? That’s what we find out below.

[PhenQ vs Phenocal SUMMARY]

While neither PhenQ nor Phenocal make it onto our top 5 list, Phenocal is the winner of the two. It contains more ingredients than PhenQ, it costs less ($49.95 vs $69.95), and the ingredients themselves are healthier and more researched in terms of effectiveness for weight loss. That said, both PhenQ and Phenocal have some major downsides. While PhenQ uses a bunch of ineffective and unproven ingredients, Phenocal contains a large proprietary blend that doesn’t disclose its ingredient amounts.

PhenQ vs Phenocal – The Ingredients

PhenQ’s Ingredients

PhenQ Ingredients Label

First impressions on PhenQ’s formula?

It’s a mixed bag.

There are a few good ingredients inside, including chromium, caffeine, and capsicum fruit extract. Together, these ingredients should give you a slight boost in your energy levels, helping you to burn a few extra calories.

However, there are just as many pointless, even potentially harmful ingredients in the formula.

L-carnitine, nopal cactus fiber, niacin, and a-Lacys Reset are unproven compounds when it comes to weight loss. L-carnitine is the only one that could potentially give you some benefit, although most reputable studies show this effect is far too weak to be noticeable.

Nopal Cactus Fiber works by expanding in your stomach and therefore is supposed to create a feeling of fullness and satiety – prolonging the time until you feel hungry. The issue is, Nopal Cactus Fiber is one of the worst types of fiber for this purpose. Its effects aren’t substantial enough. A far better option is Glucomannan which is a type of fiber that the best fat burner supplements use – it can swell up to 100x its original size.

Niacin is a basic B vitamin that can ironically make it easier to gain weight by aggravating insulin resistance. Unless you’re deficient in this specific B vitamin, supplementation often does more harm than good.

Lastly, the a-Lacys Reset which consists of Alpha Lipoic Acid and L-Cysteine doesn’t do much at all. If anything, Alpha Lipoic Acid can cause negative side effects such as headaches, nausea, and vertigo if used improperly.

All in all, PhenQ’s formula is a letdown. While the caffeine might give you an illusion that the supplement works (by stimulating you), it is far from the most effective weight loss product on the market. It is missing many of the core ingredients that the best fat burners use, which should be added instead of the ineffective and unproven compounds in the formula.

Phenocal’s Ingredients

Phenocal Ingredients List

Right from the start, it’s clear that Phenocal has a significantly larger formula than that of PhenQ.

For one, Phenocal has a lot of the basic nutrients that you would find in a multivitamin, including the B-complex vitamins, chromium, and vitamin D3 (1000IU). These nutrients won’t do much for you in terms of helping you to lose weight, but they might contribute to your overall well-being if you’re deficient in any of them.

The main ingredients in Phenocal that are intended for weight loss are in a Proprietary Blend (2230mg). These include green tea leaf, glucomannan, L-Tyrosine, L-Tyroptophan, and Coleus Forskohlii among others.

Most of these are excellent inclusions. Green tea is a tried and tested fat burner that helps you to spend more calories throughout the day. Glucomannan, as we’ve seen in PhenQ’s ingredient section, is one of the best natural appetite suppressants around. and L-Tyrosine and Coleus Forskohlii help to promote optimal hormonal balance which contributes to not just weight loss but other aspects of performance and fitness.

In that regard, Phenocal has far better ingredient choices than PhenQ.

But Phenocal is not without its problems. In fact, its downsides make it no less disappointing than PhenQ.

The most obvious, and the most concerning problem with Phenocal is the use of a proprietary blend. As you might already know, proprietary blends are a mixture of ingredients shown as a single value on the label. You can see the total dosage of the blend, but not the dose of each ingredient in the blend. As a result, you can’t know if these ingredients are properly dosed at all.

This is a massive problem because most of the fat-burning ingredients in Phenocal are found in this proprietary blend. For all we know, the blend could be 99% CLA, which is cheap and ineffective.

Assuming the ingredients are dosed correctly, Phenocal should give you a noticeable improvement in your energy levels, along with helping to suppress your appetite. In the end, if the manufacturer gave us clear and transparent information on ingredient dosages, we wouldn’t have to guess. A proprietary blend shows a lack of confidence in a product, and typically suggests that the manufacturer is trying to hide something.

We’re not saying this is the case with Phenocal, as it could be a totally legitimate product with optimal ingredient dosages. It’s just that if you’re really using high-quality ingredients in effective amounts, why not show it on the label? Formula theft doesn’t exist nowadays!

Overall, we think you can easily go for more transparent fat burners that are tried and tested, and use clinically studied ingredients in optimal dosages. PhenQ and Phenocal both leave a lot to be desired.

PhenQ vs Phenocal – Side Effects

PhenQ and Phenocal both contain ingredients that are commonly used as supplements and are generally known to be safe. Though there are a few exceptions.

PhenQ uses Alpha Lipoic Acid which is known to cause a slew of side effects if used improperly.

Cost & Where to Buy?

PhenQ costs $69.95 per bottle and is only officially available on its website.

Phenocal costs $49.95 on its official website, though the price can vary depending on where you buy it as it is also available on other websites.

Our Verdict: Phenocal vs PhenQ

All things considered, is PhenQ or Phenocal better for helping you to lose weight and have more energy?

The answer is that Phenocal is cheaper and offers better value for money in terms of the ingredient choices. However, both PhenQ and Phenocal fall behind other market-leading fat burners due to the fact that both supplements have some major issues.

The main problem with PhenQ is that it uses too many ineffective and unproven compounds, which should be replaced with the likes of green tea extract and glucomannan, among others.

As for Phenocal, the main problem is the usage of a proprietary blend, which means the manufacturer has decided to hide vital dosage information about Phenocal’s ingredients.

For the prices that are being charged for these two products, you can easily find more transparent, and more effective weight loss supplements on offer today.
