Slimvance Review – Does it Work?

Slimvance Thermogenic Review - Does This Fat Burner Work?

*Updated

Slimvance Thermogenic review: In this review, we’ll see if the Slimvance Thermogenic Core Slimming Complex fat burner can help you get leaner, have more energy, and avoid food cravings and binges.

Slimvance is produced by Bodydynamix, a child company of GNC. You can buy it on Amazon and other places online. You’ll also find Slimvance in Walmart, but not in Walgreens or Target!

So, what exactly does Slimvance do? Its makers say it will help you:

  • Lose inches
  • Get fitter and leaner
  • Burn fat and sweat more in the gym
  • Have more energy and feel better

With 30 servings per container, Slimvance is using some of our favorite fat burning ingredients – such as caffeine and Capsimax. But there are also some concerns we’ll need to address.

Below, we’ll do a thorough Slimvance Thermogenic review to see if it lives to the hype, how effective it is at burning fat and suppressing appetite, and how safe it is for daily use. Shall we get started?

Slimvance Review Summary

If you don’t want to read through our whole report, we’fe found Slimvance to be a mixed bag of good and bad.

  • It contains a proprietary blend which means that the doses of some ingredients aren’t shown on the label.

It’s also missing a better appetite suppressant that we so often see in high-grade fat burners, along with being bereft of some other key ingredients. It does have a nice big dose of caffeine which will give you a surge of energy (if you can tolerate stimulants).

If we’re being totally honest, for a price of $60 we expected a bit more!

Here are the pros and cons of Slimvance:

Pros

  • Uses 200mg of caffeine per serving
  • Cayenne Pepper is a great thermogenic
  • Widely available online and in stores

Cons

  • Missing an appetite suppressant and some other core ingredients
  • Proprietary blend entails lack of transparency on the label
  • Garcinia Cambogia can be harsh on the liver at doses higher than 50mg
  • Skewed serving schedule – only taken twice per day, the effects between doses wear off

How Does Slimvance Thermogenic Work?

The makers of Slimvance Thermogenic draw on two studies that show this fat burner increases the number of calories you spend when you exercise.

Since it’s a thermogenic, they promise it will:

  • Increase your metabolic rate
  • Help you lose inches
  • Make your body more efficient at utilizing fat for energy

The issue is, the studies Bodydynamix cites were funded by themselves, so we can’t use them as real gauge for how (in)effective Slimvance is!

So, let’s have a look at the actual, peer-reviewed research behind Slimvance ingredients to learn more.

Slimvance Thermogenic Review: The Ingredients

In Slimvance you’ll find the following active ingredients:

  • Niacin (20mg)
  • Slimvance Patented Blend (450mg)
  • Caffeine Anhydrous (200mg)
  • Garcinia Cambogia Fruit Extract (100mg)
  • Capsimax Cayenne Pepper (33mg)
  • Piperine Black Pepper Extract (5mg)

Many of these ingredients have their doses shown on the label, so you know how much of each ingredient is going into your body. There’s one exception though – the Slimvance proprietary blend.

What is a proprietary blend? It’s a mixture of ingredients that only have their total dose shown on the label. This means we can’t asses ingredient’s individual dose for safety or efficacy.

Here’s a closer look:

1. Niacin

Niacin or vitamin B3 is the only B vitamin that can cause your skin to flush and turn red. Hence the term “niacin flush”.

However, this is a harmless side effect that only happens when you take niacin at high enough doses. What’s more concerning about niacin, is that it actually worsens insulin resistance when supplemented.

This is kind of ironic considering that Slimvance is supposed to make you slimmer. With insulin resistance, you’ll be gaining fat from just about anything you eat, and have a very hard time burning it off.

This is why we don’t recommend niacin supplementation, unless you have a really good reason for it. This can be to improve cholesterol levels and cardiovascular health for example, as niacin can actually be helpful in that sense.

2. Slimvance Patented Blend

This is the shady proprietary blend we’ve been talking about. It consists of:

  • Moringa Oleifera Leaf Extract
  • Murraya Koenigii Leaf Extract
  • Curcuma Longa

Neither one of these ingredients is good for weight loss. They don’t actually burn fat, but they support your general health.

For example, Moringa Oleifera is shown to fight inflammation, much like curcuma longa (aka, turmeric).

Not only are the ingredients unconvincing, but we also can’t see their individual doses in Slimvance’s blend, making it impossible to tell how they’ll work.

3. Caffeine Anhydrous

Since Slimvance is a ‘thermogenic’ fat burner, it only makes sense to see caffeine in it. The world’s most used (and abused) stimulant is really a great way to boost your metabolic rate and improve insulin sensitivity for smoother dieting overall.

In addition, caffeine is well-known for boosting energy levels. This is helpful for the mental aspect of dieting that most people struggle with. It’s also of huge benefit when you’re in the gym and need to push those last few reps.

Since its dose is 200mg per serving, you’ll want to watch for your caffeine intake outside of this supplement to avoid the side effects.

4. Garcinia Cambogia Extract

Garcinia is a controversial weight loss ingredient. Some swear by it, others avoid it like a plague. While it does appear promising for burning fat and reducing appetite, it’s actually been shown to be hard on the liver.

So it comes as no surprise to see FDA recommending to stay away from Garcinia, especially if you’re planning to take it in high doses. It’s okay in lower doses (50mg and below) if you’re a healthy individual, but if you have any kind of liver issue, make sure to tell your doctor if you plan to use Garcinia.

5. Capsimax Cayenne Pepper

This is one of the best ingredients in Slimvance BodyDynamix Thermogenic fat burner. Why? Because it’s an actual thermogenic.

It works much like caffeine, boosting your metabolic rate as a response to an increase in the core body temperature, but without the jitters or energy crashes as cayenne pepper isn’t a stimulant.

6. Piperine

Piperine is here to tie everything up together in a nicely absorbably and easily digestible formula. Seriously, if you see a fat burner without this ingredient, then stay away from it. Piperine is helpful for enhancing the bioavailability of ingredients like curcumin especially – boosting their absorption rate by up to a crazy 2,000%.

Though we’re concerned that some ingredients don’t need a ‘boost’. Primarily we’re talking about caffeine and Garcinia Cambogia. They can already cause side effects, so why make them stronger?

Our Thoughts on the Ingredient Profile

We expected more from such a hyped product. Slimvance only has Cayenne Pepper and caffeine going for it.

The rest looks unconvincing. Garcinia is potentially unsafe, vitamin B3 can make you hold onto fat ironically, and let’s not forget the proprietary blend that uses pointless ingredients in unknown amounts.

If you’re okay with some of these shortfalls, then it could work for you. But there’s no question that Slimvance could be improved by replacing some of its ineffective ingredients with something better (e.g. Glucomannan for appetite reduction).

The Three of the Best Fat Burners of 2024

How to Take Slimvance

Dosage instructions for Slimvance Thermogenics are to take 2 capsules, twice per day before your meals. To let the thermogenic ingredients get to work.

  • Two servings per day is better than many fat burners out there, although it’s still not ideal. How so? Because taking it only 2 times per day means you’ll have a lot of downtime between the doses.

You take your capsules, the thermogenic effects kick in, they last a few hours, and then they wear off.

You’ll want to look for a fat burner that has 3-4 servings per day. This will keep you in a constant fat-burning mode.

And if a fat burner uses a really good appetite suppressant (like Konjac Root), the appetite suppression effects will last you around the clock, too.

Does Slimvance Thermogenic Have Side Effects?

Slimvance Thermogenic shouldn’t cause you any side effects if you’re a healthy person.

  • That said, some of its ingredients can lead to side effects if you’re sensitive to them. We’re primarily talking about turmeric and caffeine here.

Turmeric thins your blood, so if you’re on any kind of medication ask your doctor before using it.

Caffeine is self-explanatory. Make sure you don’t overdo it with your intake outside of this supplement, such as with your coffee and energy drinks.

You should also avoid taking Slimvance Thermogenic and alcohol together. Not only because it’s unhealthy, but also because it’s counterproductive for weight loss.

Slimvance Thermogenic Before and After Results

If you’re looking for real Slimvance testimonials from other people, you’ll have a tough time finding them! It’s surprisingly hard to come across legit Slimvance Thermogenic reviews.

  • We’ve found most ‘before and after’ results to be faked or manipulated in a way that makes Slimvance Thermogenic appear worse or better than it is. This is why we rarely, if ever, base our reviews on other people’s testimonials.

The best way to know what the ‘before and after’ effects of a fat burner will look for you is by checking through its ingredient list and seeing if the ingredients are backed by evidence.

If they are, you’ll see the results.

Can You Take Slimvance Thermogenic and CLA Together?

Yes, Slimvance Thermogenic and CLA can be combined. Despite it not being the most effective combo for burning fat.

  • Whereas Slimvance is missingg core ingredients that would make it better, CLA is a mixture of fatty acids that haven’t been proven to lead to significant weight loss.

We recommend researching real supplements with evidence-backed ingredients if you’re serious about losing fat in the fastest way possible naturally.

Slimvance Thermogenic Review Summary

That concludes our Slimvance Thermogenic review! Is this the best fat burner out there?

It’s not the best, but it’s got some decent ingredients! If you don’t mind the lack of appetite suppressants and the high price, then this fat burner could be a decent choice!

  • However, its lack of transparency on the label makes us hesitant on recommending it to anyone who’s serious about weight loss.

Ironically, Slimvance “Thermogenic” is missing some of the best thermogenics on the market – including green tea extract.

Add to that the price tag of $60 which puts it in the range of the best fat burners on the market. When it’s clear it doesn’t quite hold the pace with them in terms of the effects!
