PhenQ vs Modere Trim: Their Pros and Cons Explained

PhenQ vs Modere Trim: Which is Better?

PhenQ vs Modere Trim: which one is better for helping you lose weight naturally? Which one is going to give you more energy and help you feel healthier overall? Our team brings these two products face-to-face to help you determine which one is right for you.

PhenQ vs Modere Trim TL;DR Summary:

While neither PhenQ nor Modere Trim makes it onto our top fat burner supplement list, Modere Trim is the winner of the two. The only reason we picked it over PhenQ is that it uses safer ingredients that are less likely to give you side effects than those that are found in PhenQ. That being said, both PhenQ and Modere Trim have some major issues. PhenQ costs $69.95 and Modere Trim $99.99 per bottle. If they are going to charge this much, we expect them to have ingredient formulas that are up to par. Unfortunately, they are not. Far better options can be found on the market with a little research.

PhenQ vs Modere Trim – The Overview

PhenQ

PhenQ is a dietary supplement manufactured by the Cyprus-based company Wolfson Berg ltd. PhenQ has been on the market for a number of years now and has enjoyed hundreds of raving reviews from users the world over.

What is it about PhenQ that makes it so interesting?

According to its manufacturer, PhenQ delivered weight loss from 5 unique angles (that’s right, not just one or two like most fat burner supplements). These include:

  • Appetite suppression
  • Fat production blockage
  • Increased fat lipolysis
  • Boosts energy & metabolic speed
  • Enhanced mood

But how will PhenQ work for you? Our team looks closer at the pros and cons of both PhenQ and its competitor below.

Modere Trim

Modere Trim is a weight loss supplement that is made from all-natural ingredients.

Modere Trim includes a weight management complex that helps curb cravings and suppress appetite, an energy complex to help increase physical activity levels and mental clarity, and an immune system booster to help the body fight off disease.

The supplement also contains a prebiotic which can reduce bloating, gas, constipation, and diarrhea.

Again, all of these benefits sound good – but how effective is it really?

The ingredients will tell us a complete answer!

Modere Trim vs PhenQ – The Ingredients

PhenQ’s Formula

Here’s a look at PhenQ’s ingredient label:

PhenQ Ingredients Label

PhenQ has a few of our favorite ingredients. Caffeine and chromium are excellent for not just improving your energy levels during the day, but also balancing your blood sugar and boosting your metabolism to help you lose weight long-term.

What’s more, most of the ingredients have their dosages shown on PhenQ’s label, except for a few which are inside a “proprietary blend”.

But there are also some problems.

PhenQ is using some ineffective and unproven ingredients such as L-carnitine, alpha lipoic acid, and L-cysteine.

There is also a risk of side effects from some ingredients in PhenQ. Here’s a closer look.

  • Chromium – a trace mineral that helps to balance your blood sugar levels and consequently reduce food cravings.
  • L-Carnitine – a non-essential amino acid that your body makes on its own, and you also have it in numerous foods. The issue with this one is that it isn’t been proven to significantly reduce body fat, despite the hype. The only people who could benefit from l-carnitine supplementation are those with injuries or those who rigorously train in the gym as muscle damage depletes your carnitine levels.
  • Caffeine – a stimulant that can boost your mental and physical performance. At the dosage of 100mg per serving, it’s effective enough to give you the “kick” without leading to negative side effects. That is, unless you’re sensitive to it. If you are, it’s best to avoid caffeine altogether.
  • Nopal cactus fiber – this is a type of fiber that swells in your stomach making you feel fuller for longer. But it is not the best type of ingredient for this purpose. Glucomannan (aka, konjac root fiber) is generally considered far more effective for appetite suppression.
  • Capsicum Fruit Extract – An otherwise great thermogenic, but severely underdosed in PhenQ. You’ll need at least 100mg per serving to have a significant effect.
  • Niacin – A type of B vitamin that most of us get through food already, as plenty of food sources contain it. Supplementation won’t confer any additional benefits unless you’re deficient.
  • Black Pepper Fruit Extract – It helps to improve the digestion and absorption of other compounds in PhenQ.
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid – This is a risky one as it’s known to cause nausea, headaches, and other side effects. Not worth it considering the weight loss effects are not significant at all.
  • L-Cysteine – Helps to boost your glutathione levels, which is a potent antioxidant. A waste of capsule space as far as weight loss is concerned.

Modere Trim’s Formula

Here is the ingredient label of Modere Trim:

Modere Trim Ingredients

There are some good things about Modere Trim’s formula, but there also some major issues.

The good thing is that Modere Trim doesn’t use any stimulants, so the risk of side effects, even for sensitive individuals, is fairly low.

Unfortunately, this is one of the only positive things about Modere Trim.

It is using a proprietary blend, which means we can’t see the individual ingredient dosages. This prevents us from assessing them for effectiveness.

The ingredients themselves don’t look too good, either. Apart from CLA, there is not a single ingredient in Modere Trim that has human evidence proving it can lead to notable weight loss. Even CLA is underresearched and the studies we have so far don’t look overly promising. It may help you with some fat burning in the long run, but it’s definitely far from the best ingredient around.

Modere Trim is also missing quite a few core ingredients from its formula. These include green tea extract, cayenne pepper extract, glucomannan, and other compounds which would not only increase the thermogenic effect to boost your metabolism, but some of these ingredients also curb appetite and suppress sugar cravings. Without any of these, Modere Trim isn’t able to produce significant results.

We’ll now take a closer look at each ingredient in Modere Trim in closer detail so you get an idea about what the studies say about them.

  • CLA

CLA is a natural weight loss supplement that is heavily hyped. However, it hasn’t been proven to work as effectively as the marketing material on the internet would like us to believe.

CLA stands for conjugated linoleic acid. CLA is a natural weight loss supplement that is supposed to help you lose weight by boosting your metabolism and reducing fat storage. However, according to the study conducted by the University of Pittsburgh, CLA does not have the desired effect on weight loss and might even promote fat storage. Even in the studies that did show some effectiveness, it was typically mild and not enough on its own to produce substantial results (aka, ones you can see in the mirror!).

  • Liquid BioCell (Hydrolyzed Chicken Collagen Type II)

Collagen is a protein that is found in your skin, muscles, and bones. It provides support to the body and keeps it healthy. Collagen type II is a form of collagen that is found naturally in the body.

Some people use collagen type II supplements to help with their joints, hair, nails, and skin.

It has no proven effect on weight loss or fat burning, though.

  • Chondroitin Sulfate

This is an odd one. Chondroitin is a natural compound that you’ll more often see in joint supplements. This is because chondroitin helps to alleviate joint pain along with promoting structural integrity of your connective tissues.

The problem is, chondroitin has absolutely no studied effect on weight loss whatsoever. It is a waste of capsule space that could’ve been used for more effective ingredients (an appetite suppressant like glucomannan, for example).

  • Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found throughout the body. It is believed to be one of the most important substances for maintaining joint health and skin elasticity.

You’ll most often see hyaluronic acid in skin creams. There is some evidence showing that topical application has some anti-aging effects that result in improved skin quality.

The same can’t be said for oral intake of hyaluronic acid. Supplements haven’t been shown to work at all in most cases, due to the low gastrointestinal absorption of hyaluronic acid supplements. In other words, you excrete most of it out.

Our Commentary on PhenQ’s vs Modere Trim’s Ingredients

So, which one has the better ingredient profile, PhenQ or Modere Trim?

While we give a slight edge to Modere Trim over PhenQ due to its better safety profile, we’ve found both to be disappointing.

Whereas Modere Trim is missing so many important ingredients that it is barely effective for weight loss at all, PhenQ too uses some unproven compounds as well as raises the risk of negative reactions from ALA and caffeine.

There are better options for weight loss that use more comprehensive and safer formulas, without a doubt.

PhenQ vs Modere Trim – Side Effects

Between the two, Modere Trim is far less likely to give you side effects. It has zero stimulant content and the ingredients are well-studied in terms of their safety.

As for PhenQ, it contains caffeine and Alpha Lipoic Acid, the latter of which should not be taken by most people as it’s known to cause long-term negative side effects. This is something you won’t hear often about ALA, but it’s important to know!

Cost & Where to Buy?

PhenQ costs $69.95 per bottle on its official website. Is it a good value for money? We’ll let you be the judge!

Modere Trim is even more expensive at $99.99 per bottle/month supply, though it is also available on Amazon (unlike PhenQ).

Our Verdict

For the prices that are being charged for Modere Trim and PhenQ, there are definitely better supplements to be found on the market.

PhenQ is using a few unproven ingredients while also having caffeine+ALA, a risky combo that could result in negative reactions.

Modere Trim, meanwhile, uses almost a completely ineffective formula with ingredients that have nothing to do with weight loss for the most part.

With a little research, you can easily find more effective and safer diet pills on sale today.
